Wow, this morning we were awakened to seriously loud crashes and much lightning as an amazing thunderstorm came through at some point after the sun came up. One shook the house. I will have to go check the yard later to see if any trees were hit. A few years ago a tree was indeed hit, and I have some lightning struck wood out there for people who use that sort of thing.

I went to the Foxtrot workshop yesterday, and the climate in the Spanish Ballroom was quite nice. The climate outside was also beautiful. It was great to get out. I was going to take the workshop but they were follow heavy and I didn't want to distract Marc and Ellen from teaching, so I figured [livejournal.com profile] exsmof would show me the stuff later, and took the opportunity to work on a knit and a crochet project (alternating so my hands don't get tired of one or the other). The participants really enjoyed the class, and I picked up some vicarious learning through watching, so it was all good. Then we had a wonderful dinner (thanks Marc) and had some great conversation after about doggies, neighbors, local authorities, etc. :-). Then the [livejournal.com profile] exsmof delivered me back home so he could go do his gamer thang.

As just about everyone who would have wanted to go with me to the club was gone or busy, and the [livejournal.com profile] dogpooh was feeling tired, I didn't go to the club last night. *sniff* I was also a bit tired, but still wanted to go, but not by myself. I hate that feeling of "should I stay or should I go now?" Heh. I defaulted, and spent more knitting time. I'm working on a cardigan to go with my tank top (same yarn, different pattern).

And now a day of rain, doggies who don't want to go out cuz they'll get their little feet wet, aquarium water changes, knitting, and maybe a bit of house straightening. Rain rain rain.

And looking at the amount of rain we're getting, I'm not surprised. It is just POURING down and it is loud. I'm so glad that the [livejournal.com profile] dogpooh got all of the leaves out of the beds so the plants will get a good soaking. This is likely the first year that has happened, since our previous yard service would just blow the leaves into the beds and never clean them out. I complained, was ignored, then stop paying until someone came to find out why. I pointed out the beds and he was surprised they had done that, ordered them cleaned out, I paid up, and about a month later, they blew the leaves back in. Then the final straw was them leaving the gates open AGAIN with a release of hound that it took me forever to round up, and given that we live off a VERY busy Georgetown Pike, and they had been warned many times, I gave up and fired them.

The new lawn service "A [livejournal.com profile] dogpooh and his Tractor" do a much better job, and he gets to be a redneck on a tractor, yee haw. When he puts a gun rack on it, I'm going to be in serious trouble.

Now to hope my landscaping doesn't wash away.....
