Rainy morning in paradise
Oct. 12th, 2007 10:29 amBonaire can always use the rain. It's a pleasant rain that cools things off a bit and the overcast sky doesn't bother my sunburns. Still, I may take this opportunity to be a slug today. Since I arrived, I just haven't felt "myself." My first few dives were a bit "iffy" as far as suddenly feeling that I wasn't where I should be and I HAD to get to the surface NOW. Luckily, I know better and didn't do the surface bolt thing, but for someone who has had over 500 dives and is an instructor, that's a really strange feeling to have. it was basically one of being unable to breathe. I chalk this up to the reflux being a bother, and my sinuses aren't exactly clear at the moment, despite my best efforts.
Today I have an unhappy headache, likely from the air pressure changing so dramatically between yesterday and today. It doesn't feel so bad when laying down, so that's what I'm doing. Perhaps I'll go diving in a bit, once the humidity outside hopefully lessens. I'm sure the regatta people would really like the weather to clear up so they can do their sailing thing, hopefully not so drunk as they were last night. Perhaps today's theme should be Hangovers on Boats. It's interesting that many of the local shops and restaurants closed for regatta week and the proprietors ran away so they would miss it.
More later. I think I'll lay back and close my eyes for a bit.
