iPhone Madness
Oct. 26th, 2007 10:37 amYesterday I found I would like to have my iPhone while being bored at the hairdresser's so I checked and found its battery was quite low. Ick. So I charged it in the car on the drive over there. Still as low as I first saw. Ick again! So I charged it on the way home. No change. Well that's just not fair, says me. Perhaps the car outlet is somehow bad. So I plugged it into the laptop USB port overnight. "That oughta do it," says me, confidently. But this morning, no change again! NOOOOOOOO! Not the dreaded iPhone battery disorder nightmare where I would have to bring the phone into the Apple store on the eve of Leopard release! Do not DO this to me oh cruel technological world!
So I scoured websites and found all kinds of information about do it yourself battery changes including solder remover stuff and all that really crazy shit I didn't want to deal with. Or I could ship it to happy helpful people who would replace it for me, voiding the warranty and giving me a battery they swear is "as good" as the factory one. Hmmm...No like these odds.
Back to the Apple support site that tells me damn near nothing about the battery except how much power it's SUPPOSED to have and how long it's SUPPOSED to last etc. etc. So I turn the thing off and turn it back on, hoping somehow that will do something.
The battery now shows full.
WTF? Happy but confused. Seems to be the story of my life lately :-)
