Another one of those days...
Jan. 24th, 2008 11:55 amwhere if you wrote about it, people wouldn't believe you....
I was having a very strange dream where I had somehow become an elementary school teacher (yeah, ok...perhaps in a prison camp or something :-)), when I was awoken by the idiot housekeeper banging on the door. She had done something or other to her toilet, and it was running. I told her to use the valve underneath to turn it off. Well gee, it was "too hard" for her. If it's too hard for her, why does she think *I* would be any better, especially 3/4 asleep. Luckily, the
dogpooh arrived from the doctor and is putting things to right.
Then, I found out my AppleTV somehow assigned itself a DHCP address that didn't exist, while simultaneously declaring it was on my network. Well, no it wasn't. Resetting that blew my laptop off the network, and though the AppleTV could clearly see the wireless signal, the laptop sitting right next to it could not, interrupting a conversation with
exsmof from Vienna. When the AppleTV came back, it decided to reload ALL of its video, making it useless for hours on end.
Then, Sony responded to my technical support question about why my nifty HC7 camera refuses to work with Final Cut Pro (I got the tape logged, but now it won't batch capture it), and was told to "use the software which came with the camcorder." The software that came with the camcorder is WINDOWS. Helloooo.....anybody home? I have tried the "please get me someone who is not burned out with dealing with idiots so I can get a real answer."
While fighting with that, the UPS truck arrived and promptly got stuck in my driveway.
I have chocolate. For this I am happy. Sometime this afternoon I will watch Torchwood again. And the stuck UPS truck brought me some yarn and crochet hook so perhaps I will attempt to make something NON TECHNICAL work :-).
