SQUEEEEEEEEEE
Jun. 22nd, 2007 06:53 pmOh happy! Nanny features of Prius DISABLED!

Wes put in these nice buttons, and it works flawlessly. It was pretty funny to watch me on my back with my head under the dash and feet hanging over the driver's seat, trying to fish wires, but it was worth it.
YAY!!!!!
Edit: Ok, too excited to say what these little buttons do. The Prius, if you haven't seen my previous complaints, disables full use of the phone or of the nav. system while the car is rolling. The total stupidity of this is many fold. 1) If you have a passenger who wants to use the phone or who can enter a new destination into the GPS if you THOUGHT you knew where you were going but now don't remember, you're out of luck. 2) Who is Toyota to tell me what I'm allowed to do while I'm driving? 3) It can actually be MORE dangerous to stop the car in some of these situations. Who is Toyota to tell me how to deal with my own safety?
So anyway, those buttons disable the connection between the speed sensor wire and the bluetooth, and the speed sensor and the nav. display. I will not mention getting totally stuck in the ridiculous position mentioned above and having to be pried out of the car.... but in any case it worked.
